Personal

This personal page contains some information about me. Also, my photos are on Flickr.

Winston Churchill During my time at Cambridge I was a member of Churchill College where I did my first class honours degree in Computer Science and my Ph.D. in Computer Science. The B.A. and Ph.D. in Computer Science are run by the Computer Laboratory. Churchill is one of the colleges of the University of Cambridge.

Rowing While at Cambridge I was a member of Churchill College Boat Club. I competed in the May Bumps races in 2001, 2002, and 2003. From 2006 to 2008 I was a member MIT Rowing Club, competing in various events including both the Head of the Charles and CRASH-Bs in 2007 and 2008. In the UK I have competed in the Welsh and English indoor rowing championships.

Mountain: climbing and skiing I like to climb mountains, and to ski down them. I've climbed the highest peaks of these countries: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Japan. I'd like to add a few more to this list.

Cycling I enjoy cycling to get around, and also undertaking longer rides. In Summer 2001 I cycled the End 2 End, Land's End to John o' Groats, a distance of 956 miles. To get some more information on cycle rides I have done, click the link below.

Welsh Flag I am originally from Cardiff, the capital of Wales (one of the countries of the United Kingdom). You can see some pictures of Wales here.

Map I like to travel and see new places. I have been to these countries:
Europe: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Monaco, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City.
North America: Canada, Mexico, United States.
Africa: Egypt, Tunisia.
Asia: China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Macau, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey.
Oceania: Australia.

Older stuff:

Motorbike I like riding motorbikes. I had a Suzuki Bandit 600 for many years, and did training for the IAM Advanced Motorcycling Test. I plan to get a motorbike again sometime.

Skydiving I got my FAI skydiving 'A' licence in August 2003. I have done about 40 jumps at Skydive Sibson near Peterborough, UK, and Jumptown in Orange, Massachusetts, USA. I also have a PADI Advanced Open Water scuba diving qualification.
